I just bought my first sports car in December. I am not that into cars, but now I would like to get more into it. All of my friends own Ford Lightnings, and I want nothing more that to waste them on the track. What are some inexpensive ways or things that I can do to my 02 SS to make it quicker and faster. Any suggestions would really help out. Thanks, guys.

My finance has a stock '01 Lightning. His best time was a 13.48 @ 102 mph. The Lightning is a fast truck! So my point is that your driving abilities my come into play. And, if your buddies trucks are modded then who knows. We are getting ready to put a new exhaust system on the Lightning that should get it down to 12.7 or 12.8 on stock rubber. He has never lined up against a stock SS so I can't tell you how it would have turned out. Have fun!

The lightning is indeed the quickest truck I've seen.. reminds me of the ole GMC Syclones and Typhoons.. WOOHAA!
I have raced the Lightning on the highway.. at highway speeds the ole 5.7L LS1 will beat them pretty strong.. on the streets in the 0-60mph kinda stuff.. its a close match.. those guys are quicker than snot!
Good Luck.
