Ran my car on the Dyno for the first time today. In addition to the HP an TQ ratings they did an air/fuel measure for me. It came out at 11.6. I'm told a 13.0 is optimal for a normally asperated car.
Anyone know of a good source of information on interpreting the dyno reslts etc?
The numbers were: 309 HP and 328 TQ

Quite good for a 2000. Most I see dyno in the 290-300 range. Yes, a 13.0 is theoretically optimal, but every engine is diferent. our A/F ratio would probobly be better if you put an induction modification, such as an aftermarket lid, like SLP's on your car for more airflow. More airflow=more HP.
Most people agree, the LS1 Fbody needs more help on the "in" side than the "out"

I was looking to know more about the A/F. My first mod is going to be a lid and filter - thanks for the tip.
I was also trying to understand how these numbers relate to eachother. I did not know until last weekend that horsepower is a multiplication of RPM devided by torque. I always thought it stood on it's own. Anyway, thanks for the responses, they helped.
Do 2001 and 2002's typically produce better numbers?

My 2000 SS dynoed 308 rwhp/321 rwtq stock. And 319 rwhp/328 rwtq with a lid and filter.
So, I agree! Great numbers. Our engines are pretty close!

Amy00SS, why did you choose wisper lid? I'm wondering which one is the best. I'd like it to produce the most power, but also fit well and look good.
Thanks to anyone for advice on this.

Sorry, I didn't realize my sign. didn't have my a/f ratio of 12.7. I just updated my sign. I have this info on my sign on the SLP message board.

With my stock lid, my A/F was 11.7. I am told 13.0 is perfect for a normally asperated engine.
After I put the Y-pipe on and a new lid, I'll run the dyno again.
