A friend of mine just got a 2000 SS. When he brought it by to show it to me, it had no SLP tags. I told him it wasn't real. How can we find out for sure? What can we do if it's not? Posts: 232 | From: Houston,TX | Registered: Apr 2002

lol, you wouldn't be the first to have someone do that to another person.
there is a girl here in jersey that has a 99 white z28 that she souped up and she took the z28 emblems off and added ss ones since she put the ss wing on...she says its an ss if she adds that! i told her that it would never be an ss...her vin number will give her away!
if she ever trys to sell it someone will know if they know alot about camaros

yes every ss goes to slp for hood, rims, spoiler so if you give slp the vin number the will be able to ell you if is a reall ss or not. on the slp chat forum there is a place you can ask about vin numbers go there and ask them

We found out it's not real. We called a friend at another dealership he gave us the 411. The car was also wrecked. Major downer!!

That's one of the reasons we have the SSOA. Down the road, if someone buys a used SS, we can authenticate if in fact it is an SS and what options it came with from SLP.
