7.7 km for me in the morning ... 10 minutes to the door dropping off Marion and another 4 minutes to the office for me ... with average traffic and weather conditions. We do cross a double hump bridge (one for the river, one for railway tracks) that can get jammed real quick.
Sunny out right now ... should stay for the day but it's still right around freezing temp wise.
Y'all have a great day, eh!!

No short commute for me...usually 40 minutes door to door on the light rail (and there's a chance our office will be moving even further away). At least I don't have to deal with traffic, but it's soooo annoying when the trains are having problems.

I have a 2.5 mile "commute" every morning. It usually takes 7 minutes with all the stoplights...there are about a dozen stoplights and I usually hit every one when it is red. Sometimes it takes me 15 minutes depending if people want to go 15 MPH up the street (no passing). Anyway, it's defintely nothing to complain about but I did my time already....I used to commute 90 miles per day.

I work 5 miles from home and it takes approximately 12-15 minutes whether I drive or take the light rail train. I have noted which train is leaving the station near work the same time I am. We get to the station/crossing near home at the same time. The stoplights I encounter when in the car pretty much equal the stops the train takes on the way home. It all depends on whether I need the car for errands or just feel like driving that motivates my decision to take the train or not.

Man, if I lived as close as some of you, I would ride my bike (after I bought one LOL) or rollerblade to work.

I have thought about it many times. The city has a "Bike to Work Day" that I have participated in but I couldn't see doing it every day. The ride would be kind of tough even though it isn't too far. Darn hills. And something about my need for speed that makes me ride like a maniac every time I get on my bike and I don't want to show up at work all sweaty...I'm sure my co-workers don't want me too either!

Yeah, I'm a big biker. I probably ride 100 miles a week. I wouldn't want to ride to work. One, my office is on the second busiest road in town. Two, I wouldn't want to be sweaty at work.
