I just got back from the Ontario Camaro Club Nationals, held in St. Catherines, Ontario. The weather was ideal, with over 200 Camaros registered, from Ontario, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and as far away as Georgia.
Here's a few pic's.
1) My SS in the judging lane in front of two Yenko Super Cars from Pennsylvania. The yellow one is original and the green one is fully restored (drool!)
2) Here I am in the judging lane (still) behind a dealer optioned 2nd gen "port hole" Camaro (very rare, and it still had it's 8 track tape player). The black 2nd gen behind me has a 502 cu in/502 HP Chevy crate motor (probably the only time I'd keep in front of him )
3) Here's a shot of some of the cars at the show.
It was a great weekend, meeting a lot of old and new friends. All my prep work paid off, as I was thrilled to win the '93 to present Street Camaro class for the second year in a row.

Congrats on your award! You guys do a nice show! So many from Canada that know my name and I did not remember theirs. The cruise to the falls was the best Camaro cruise that I have ever been on. I think we could have used at least 6 cops on the escort. Posts: 5682 | From: Dearborn,Mi. | Registered: Feb 2002

That 2nd gen with the port hole windows is the only one I have ever seen and is in mint condition. Those Yenkos were sweet! How about the Callaway? I never seen one of those either. Posts: 5682 | From: Dearborn,Mi. | Registered: Feb 2002

I put up my SSOA flag on Saturday morning, hoping to attract some attention, but unfortunately SSOA is a relatively unknown association here in Ontario. I didn't meet one other member (although 2002Z4CSS was there too). The Ontario Camaro Club has about 180 members.
I did a little sales and marketing about SSOA. Hopefully it generated some interest.
Edit: Oops, I just remembered, I did meet SSOA member Dave Stokes again this year. Dave was the one who told me about SSOA at last year's show.

Dave Stokes is one of my best friends and he and I have been Camaro freaks forever. He had an '85 HO and I had an '86 IROC. We used to run them side by side on an old country road...Great fun! He has a red '97 SS...bone stock and clean as a whistle. He and his son Adam, run in solo competition in the Pickering-Ajax-Whitby-Oshawa area east of Toronto. Before moving to San Diego in '99, I lived in Whitby.

Dave's a real nice guy and knows almost everything there is to know about 4th gen SS's and collectibles. His son did most of the detailing on Dave's SS at the show, and his car won 1st place in his Stock class. Dave told me after the awards presentation that he was going to give the trophy to his son to display in his son's bedroom. A nice gesture.

Congrats to all and to Dave Stokes! Call me crazy but I let him and his son drive my Brickyard 400 late Saturday night and stayed in the parking lot drinking a beer with other OCC members. They were gone for approx 1/2 hour and I thought they got lost! LOL!
I did have a full tank of gas and when they brought the car back it was off full. I asked Dave if it chirped 2nd and he said it did,so I know he tried out the accelerator pedal.
