Just got home from my last day of work. My whole organization was cut this week. I guess it was nice to know it wasn't because of my performance. Not really worried about anything but keeping my SS. I think I'll be OK though. Hope everyone's 4th turns out better then mine has started.

Difficult as it may seem now, more often than not these things work out for the better (I know you hate hearing that now). If you can, take this time to cherish your family and freinds, re-assess your priorities and direction, and be ready to begin anew.

Sorry for getting soppy.

Sorry to hear about your job loss as well.

But, I agree with DaddySS and Hawkeye, most everyone I know who has been in this situation has come out on top with a better job. Good luck.

Dang...so sorry to hear that.

Take this as an opportunity to pursue something new or that "dream job" you've been wanting.

Best of luck to you. By the way, what field are you in? Maybe someone on the board knows of something available. Networking with friends is one of the best ways to find a job.

Now, as for Dan.....I'm thinking Dunkin' Donuts might be his forté. He's there on time every morning getting coffee! It could be a whole new career move for him.

Thanks everyone. Maybe I'll take Dan up on his offer and bring the SS out to NH to paint the underside I think I am going to be doing that here at home though during my "break."

Seriously, the company I was with has been a really negative place to be at the past few years, I won't miss the work, but I'll miss the people.

I'm off to go spend the weekend camping with my family, be safe everyone. And thanks alot!

Eeek...I sure hope you had some warning. Hopefully you'll find something soon (and Dan too) but not so soon that you don't get to enjoy the time off.

That is a very normal feeling. We always miss the people we work with. Enjoy the time off and hopefully something better will come up. I am serious about coming out here. It is about 12 hrs to Windsor from here. I'll take good care of my F-Bod brother!! I have POR-15 and Rustoleum so your only cost would be to get here. You are welcome! Best of luck to you my friend. BTW - I have a 2 car garage with lots of room to do the work.

Zero warming. I got a call around noon saying my boss was visiting me at my site. I knew something was up, because he usually arranges visits a day or so ahead of time. The order for him to do this came down to him on Monday, so basically my boss was driving around the various sites we supported in Michigan letting people go. I don't envy him having to do that.

Dan. Thanks! While I probably won't make it out there. I will be asking you a lot of questions. I think I'm going to try and get the car up on jacks this week.
