I'm a new Camaro SS owner. Mequiars is very popular and Zaino is not. Meguiar's is found at my local Pep Boys and Zaino you have to order and wait for it to arrive(US mail is slow). What if you don't like it? Can you return it if your not satisfied? Will Zaino pay the shipping if you return it? I can't decide which is the better wax for my SS. Which is better, Meguiar's or Zaino? Which is more expensive? Where can I buy Zaino cheap or at wholesale?

Well first of all, Zaino is very popular. Just ask many people here on this board. Second, you can order Zaino thru your local distributor, which means you can have it in a day or so, rather than waiting for your shipment from Sal in New Jersey. Email Sal and he can tell you who your closest distributor is. Third, there is no guarantee...if you don't like it you can't get a refund. I don't think any good waxes or polishes offer a guarantee. So if you do order Zaino, just get the basics. Then if you don't like it, you haven't wasted too much. Most likely though, you will love it.
Both are very good at keeping your car looking good. I have come to the conclusion that it isn't really WHAT you use, but how often you use it...meaning as long as you maintain your car's finish, it will look very good. I have never used Meguiars so I don't know much about their products but I have used Zaino for four years and love it. I have basically every product the make and they are all quality products.
Which is better? Who knows really...it is a fairly subjective answer. Just do what many of us have done and try the products that interest you until you find the one you like the best.

I agree totally with what mhayman said. Zaino is very popular with many people here and on other boards. I have two good friends and we all have SS's. One friend has a stunning black T-Top coupe and the other an equally stunning triple black convertible. The coupe owner uses Zaino faithfully and his car looks awesome. The other friend and I both use Meguiars and to tell you the truth, I can't see the difference. Both cars have a deep lustre and brilliant shine. I will say, based on feedback from my two friends and my own observations, that the Meguiars needs more attention in terms of regular applications to stay on par with Zaino. Zaino is a little on the expensive side, but it goes a long way, so on a per application basis, it's actually quite reasonable.
Mhayman has the best advice...Try the products and then decide which ones are keepers. Since the Zaino requires a larger up front cash outlay, I agree that is would be best to get only the basics first and then decide if you like it.
Both are fine products, so you really can't go wrong here. Good luck.

On every message board poll I've seen on who uses what, Zaino had taken over 50% of the votes all by itself. All the rest added together made up the less than 50%. There is a reason. Both with give you a shine, but Zaino will last and protect.

I went with meguires as I could find it locally, (body shop supply store). Zaino can't buy locally don't want to wait for shipping as there ins't a dist. in my area. Also I barely have enough time to use a "normal" wax/polish. To me its a bit much the 5 step zaino process etc. Plus my fear was if I bought all that crap and I didn't like it I would be out some money. Although I figured if I didn't like it I could sell the stuff to some Zaino head on the SLP board. My car looks really shinny so Im happy with the meguires stuff.... got some specail stuff $20+ a bottle. The big difference I noticed was in the rags you use to polish. I "stole" a tip from the zaino site when I was doing some research. I use 100% cotton towels that I bought from a fieldcrest outlet store. They don't scratch it leave it looking brilliant. They are super soft, worth the moeny I spent. I used to buy a "bag-o-rags" at costco but the cheap things would scratch the livving heck out of the paint and it would look bad no matter what I used. My 2 cents.

TOWELS?????Man you are really living in the PAST. Take it from someone who has been detailing these beast for thirty years now. The hottest thing on the market it MICRO-FIBER TOWELS. They are 100 times softer than your cotton towels and will not scratch the finish. Try your towel on a black car, in about two or three applications, it will dull. Get your Mircro Fiber Towels at Wal-Mart, two for $4.46 here in Georgia. If you can't find them, then let me know, I have bought many for my business. Oh Yes! Might want to try something better than either one of the products you mentioned, its called RACE GLAZE. The whole six bottle kit is only $75.00 bucks and will last you about ten applications. I am a fan of meguires products. Have been using them. Depending on the cars damage I will start with a micro bar to clean the surface wash, dry then use Mirror Glaze Diamond Cut Compound with a wool bonnet(Mirror Glaze #W4000). Only using the compound if there is damage(scratches,acid rain ect.). Then apply Mirror Glaze Dual Action Polish with a 8" foam finishing pad(Meguiers Mirror Glaze # W9000).Then an application of Meguiers show car glaze # 7. Finishing with my favorite wax Collinite Marque D'Elegance #915. They also make a detergent proof wax #476S or fleet wax #885 I use on my other cars. I will only make one comment. I drove 1800 miles or so to Ohio and back. The road tar and bugs came off with a simple car wash. Nothing sticks. I go through many cleaning mits because the tar and bugs get stuck in the mitt. That is enough for me to stick with Zaino. Ok, I lied, one more comment. I get lots of questions from normal car owners about how my black car looks so black.

I used Meguiar's for a long time too. It was my favorite wax until I got Zaino. Zaino is worth the money! I got everything I needed for $100 bucks and I expect it will last me a few years. I don't mind waiting for shipping for the right products.

I too was one that have tried all the waxes & Polish out there. I tried Zaino and have been using it ever since. After many comments at car shows about how black and deep the finish is I'm convinced it has helped us win. Look, when people ask you if the whole car has been repainted it is telling you something. My advise, try it, if you don't like what you see, post a message, I'm sure one of us here will take it off your hands...

The RACE GLAZE system is much simpler to use, depending on the severity of the scratch's you have, use either the Fast Action or the Leveling Compounds, neither have Crystalline Silica's(check your product-they do)this is what cause's some of the swirl marks. Use a fine cut faom pad at 1200 rpm. Finish off with RACE GLAZE POLISH/SEALER and a polishing foam pad. This will last about six months. To get a really super shine; use an orbital buffer, micro fiber towell, dampened to remove RACE GLAZE polish, the shine will knock your socks off. If you want to see the end results, contact me.
