a returning Camaro owner!

I hope Scott didnt pocket the extra $1000 cuz the rebates went up to 3K.

email from Scott:
Hope those of you in the U.S. enjoyed your 4th Holiday!

I'm attaching a JPG file that contains a picture of one of the latest
people to take delivery of a new Camaro......

You see, she got her first Camaro "demonstrator" back on September 30,
1966......it was an Emerald Turquoise Coupe with a 327 and
powerglide......it was followed in the summer of 1967 by a Bolero Red
Convertible.....then in the fall of '67 with a Matador Red '68 coupe with
the "hockey stripe." -- many others followed......until Grandsons started
to arrive....I believe her last Camaro "demo" was a 1986 White
coupe.........and because of Grandsons, she started driving station wagons
or sedans........and wasn't very happy about it...but felt that Grandsons
certainly outweighed driving a coupe again.

During the Keystone Camaros "cruise to Mars" --many of my fellow Camaro
Enthusiasts asked me why she was not driving a Camaro.........and my answer
is that while she does not look her age, my concern was the ability for her
friends (of similar age) to get into the back seat (she drives a
lot.....about 15K a year.......) and that is why she was not driving a
Camaro............................

Well, that has changed.........

I can't tell you her age.....but let's just say that I am 48 and she was in
her late 20s when she gave birth to me (you do the math......)

I can tell you this......she is giddy about her new Camaro -- tells
everyone about it, and of course promptly put a "Camaro Parking only" sign
up in her garage.............the only complaint? She claims she could use
more power! So you see, there are a lot of people -- of various ages, that
really love this car. (although I suspect that she is probably 'prejudiced'
being that I'm her son........

My cousin, who is a Chevy dealer asked her if she thought she could handle
taking the T-roofs in and out.....her response? "Listen! I lift 25 pound
sacks of flour with regularity -- of course I can handle them!!!!!" (and
then she proceeded to take them out, stow them, and drive off with a big
smile............)

--just thought you might like to know this little bit of trivia!

My wife and I are sort of responsible that Elaine wanted a new Camaro! She just looks so happy behind the wheel of it! Good for her!

So did Scott conveniently forget to get her a Z28, or SS? They should fire it right over to SLP for the "SSR" package they had on Mr. Hamburgers personal car last year.

How cute! A BIG welcome to the woman that brought us Scott.

Did she get a base model (V6) or a Z28 (LS1)?

That is so cool that she got a camaro at her age. God bless her for still enjoying "toys" like that. I hope she has a blast with her new car.

She had her eye on 35th Anniversary LE Brickyard 400 #45 that just had the Tom Henry conversion done to it and Scott did not want her having a convertible due to the blind spot. She got a nice loaded V6 coupe!

The guys at SLP had done up a V6 for Mrs. Hamburger and it was quite attractive. I did take a photo of it, but I'd have to find it if you really want to see.

Mrs. Settlemire was in heaven amongst all the Camaros at the Tom Henry event she just had to have one of her own.

As Greg said she REALLY wanted the 350 HP GMMG special edition 35th anniversary Brickyard 400.

She got herself a very nice T-Top V6 Camaro, and awesome car for an awesome lady. Had the great fortune to meet her. Now I know why Scott is so cool!!!

What blind spot The A-pillars are the only visual impediment on a properly driven convertible

It's a pewter with black roof V6 convertible that was dragged through the entire SLP Engineering Toybox creating a full load "SS" minus the LS1.
