There is a pronounced engine noise in my 2001 Camaro SS. I believe it is piston slap and the Dealer says its the rocker arms. Does anyone else have this problem or has had it fixed? Thanks Rich

Wilfox, does this happen when the engine is cold; if so it could be the lifters, and that is considered normal. Hope that helps.. [Big Grin]

Wilfox, a small amount of ticking sound is normal for the LS1 engines. however, it should not be too loud. i too have a loud ticking sound coming from deep within my engine. Steve da Wrench said that it is the lifters. have not got it fixed yet. the first dealer i went to said it was normal. i will go to several others until i can find one that agrees with me that it is Definately not normal to tick that loud.
