I want to get a set w/high flow cats,SLP y-pipe,and Corsa cat back.Any body with a similer set up? Give me your Pros(power,sound) and Cons(heat,installation,ground clearance,if any).Thanks

I have a 2002 Camaro SS and have been looking into this same question.
To date I have ridden in a 2001 Camaro with the SLP loudmouth and Corvette ZR1 with headers, high-flow cats, and a Corsa system.
The SLP Loudmouth is TOO loud in the Camaro for me. It is OK until about 2000 RPM ... then you get a LOT of resonance and noise. Nice ... but loud. Cool if you're 25 but not if you're 40+.
The ZR1 I rode in was in Oregon. CrovetteJeff took me for a ride in his while my Bilsteins were being installed. Quiet idel and medium mid-range with LOUD full throttle. Just right!
I have also heard a Borla. Among these exhausts, I'll buy street-legal long tube headers (Ceramic coated), high-flow cats and Y-pipe (ceramic if available), and a Corsa cat-back (stainless)... and will be very happy!
Just my $0.02 ...
My unsolicited advice ... RIDE in one or DRIVE it. You'll know when it is right for you. There is NOTHING wrong with the Borla or the SLP Loudmouth, just not MY cup of tea when speding MY money. All are high quality and OK, but I'm going with a Corsa coupled with the other exhaust items above.

I have the SLP Y and the Borla Cat Back. That's a common combo. You can adjust the Borla to suit the level of "noise" you want by inserting the plates.
Rock runs no plate, his is louder than mine, since I am 45+ I also want mine a tad subdued. I run the 2nd largest plate - that suits me fine.
My 2cents.

I am now running an GMMG chambered exhaust. IMO it has to be the nicest sounding exhaust on an LS1. I had a Borla on my 94Z. It had a great sound. The chambered has a sound all its own. Another reason I like the chambered exhaust,you don't see a large muffler under the car. The chambered exhaust looks so much nicer. I did a lot of searching for a long tube setup also. I had heard so many good things about the FLP headers. Good fit,quality,easier to install than most and comes as a complete set(headers,cats and y-pipe).

where are you going to find street-legal long tube headers??
all the ones i've seen are not street-legal.

if they are indeed street legal; i.e. smog legal, then i want them. that is the only thing holding me back about the Long tubes. i don't want to spend all that $ on them and installing them only to find out that i can't pass DEQ. do they have a web site for the info.?

I have a set on and run with the cut out open. For the most part it is not to loud until I jump on it then it gets real loud. When I have the dump shut it sounds just like stock.

any long tube header is strickly speaking illegal, as you are moving the location of the OE cats.
that being said.... most states dont look, so long as you pass the sniffer.
Good place for tech info is ls1tech.com. ALOT of hardcore racers.
Most seem to go for SLP or FLPs. Hookers are new on the scene, havent seen much feedback on them yet.
Once you have your mind made up, watch for group purchases on some of the bigger boards like cz28.com or ls1.com

I have done a lot of researching on this subject. I have just received my set of FLP LT headers. I will be installing them in a couple of weeks. FLPs are suppose to be easier to install tha SLPs. The FLPs come with cats and off road pipes. It is simple to change back and forth. This is my option.
