...From Chris's post from another thread:
quote:
... If we stopped after 500 miles, we are landing around Lexington, Va near I-81/I-64 intersection, basically not far from the end of Skyline.
Coming back, a more direct route would save us about 100 miles.
General directions for the way back: I-65 --> I-71 --> either (I-70 to I-76 to I-81) or (I-76 to I-80) ...

On our way TO Bowling Green:
...Lexington, Va. (vicinity) sounds fine for Tuesday night.(John01 (from Rockville), ...could you make this by Wed. morning??, via I-81?). Any thoughts on directions we want to take for Wednesday?? (I-64west --> 60 (scenic) -->I-64 (to Lexington)?? ...then? meet with another caravan? (Hawkeye & Co., ...where might you guys be mid-day Wednesday??)

On the way back: ...I-65 --> I-71 --> I-70 --> I-76 --> I-81 (or I-80, either would be fine).
NOW, ...It would seem some of our Canadian friends may be taking a similar route for the 1st leg of the return trip. Any thougths on a "train" heading north? ...we could plan an overnight in the same hotel??? somewhere??
OR, ...any scenic/alternative routes we might consider??? ...up for discussion at BG, ...??

...It's coming up fast... [Smile]

I'll explore alternate scenic routes back early next week. Those were the most direct routes.

I am swamped at work. Have a major upgrade going in Sat nite. If I get this in and it works, I will be home free work wise!!!!

Don't think I'll be able to make it there by Wednesday morning. The earliest I'll probably be leaving Rockville is about 6am. We'll most likely blast down I-81 instead of taking Skyline.
