Here's the situation. Stock 99 Camaro SS exhaust.

After the car warms right up and I run it for a while, when I stop at a light (idle), the exhaust makes distinctive "pop" sounds. This only happens after the car has been run and only at idle.

Any ideas/suggestions? Possible exhaust leak? Car running rich?

Any help would be apprciated.

THANKS!!

Steve, check the system for any leaks. Is the pop loud enough to hear inside the car?

I will check when I get home. Yes, the pops are loud enough to hear from the inside of the car with the windows rolled up!

You may even have a slightly bent exhaust valve. Is there even the slightest chance you ever over-revved it? If you dont find any exhaust leaks, then check your compression.
