For the first time last night, after driving around with friends we went to the Nissan dealership to check if the and of the Z's had come in and lo and behold, 3 were on a truck!! Wow, what a difference seeing one up close. My one friend owns a 93 300ZX twin turbo. He's goin today to probably test drive one if they will let him. Quite a nice car for the price. 287 listed hp on a V6 (don't think it's an inline, though it really pushes 300hp) Hurry up and get that new Camaro out!! or at least the GTO [silly]

I agree with ya. Actually looks like a decent sports car. Very few things have changed from the 'prototype' which shows companys are not afraid to take those chances like that. I'm sure these vehicles will seel quickly! I think Nissan sold the very first 350Z on ebay for $85-95k!! [Big Grin]

I saw one at the Nissan dealer yesterday! I liked it alot. they had a 240 Z right next to it.

Can you believe that a rear tail light lens on an Xterra is not a replaceable item? You have to buy the whole tail light assembly for 130 bucks. And a hub cap is like 30 bucks!!

Sheesh.

Yikes, didn't know that! I really like the 18" wheels on the Z and the rear reminds me of a porsche.IMO

The outside of the Z isn't too bad. I sat in one a couple weeks ago at the dealer here and didn't like it at all. I didn't like the seating position or any part of the interior. I'm pretty sure it's a nice car with pretty good zip but I will pass on it.

Sorry, IMHO and as a former Z owner that is one ugly car. I still say form should follow function, and that thing is following some x generation, dot com, idea of what a sports car looks like. [tounge] [ugh] [confused] [ergh]

Come on... that was a bit harsh DaddySS...

but it's totally cool to have that opinion.. I didn't say I think it's better than say.. the Camaro SS... [Smile] [Smile] but I definately think that car deserves a place on the roads... (even if it is in my rear view mirror) [blob]

Haha, I like that...just wait when they come out with a turbo 350Z version, YIKES!! And no I'm not a fan of rice whatsoever, just nice cars that can perform. And this is one of them. But until then, thos Z's will be in our rear view mirrors for sure [Big Grin]

Don't misunderstand me, I am a fan of all things beautiful in the automotive world. The original Z's were excellent, I had a 78 280Z that was awsome. The miata is a gorgeous little car, the BMW Z8 is great, and if I gave it some thought I could come up with a long list.

What I can't stand is this junk that is trying to make some kind of statement rather than be a car;

Chevy avalanche
Pontiac aztec
Cadillac.....hey notice these are all GM cars.....hmmmm. [Eek!]

What I'm really not too fond of is GM using the SS designation on almost all their performance...and some not so...cars!
Anyone else agree?

I'd like to know why you had to find that out [confused]

Ditto that - don't overdo the "SS" logo. It will just dilute it! And Daddy, you are so right - a neighbour of mine has a BMW Z8, black, and it is one beautiful ride!

I thought I already told that story! I was taking my mom for a stress test (she was having some numbness in her arm) and we were hit by a women in a Jeep Wrangler. We were stopped and had to just watch her come around the corner, go over a curb headed for a stone wall, last second turned hard left right into the side of us. There was a women in a Suburban (those Subby driver are so nice) on a cell phone withh 911. Seems the women that hit us had already hit 3 other cars. I heard later that she committed herself to the loony bin. She was arrested that day. Anyway, we have $1000 deductible and won't see the 1000 until the insurance companies straighten out who is paying what. So the 1300 damage wasn't going to get fixed now. It looks pretty good to me the way I did it. By the way, mom is fine!!

Yup, I agree too. It should remain special!! BTW - saw the SSR at the auto show yesterday. I was not overly impressed. It is kinda cool, but I was not all that excited. I loved the Trail Blazers though. They had a Z06 and 50Th ann vette with a big space in betweenn where the Camaro should have been!! [Frown]

I still think there's something not quite right at the top at the General in terms of market planning. There are all kinds of cars in the same category as the Camaro and Firebird or close to it. I think someone should have been putting together contingency planning as they saw the sales drop so that another model could have been introduced to keep buyers loyal instead of letting the competitors have an opportunity to siphon them off!
I still feel that most of those who would have bought a Camaro are still not going to buy a Mustang, even a blown Cobra, but some will. why give them the chance to switch?
