To fill in the space you must use aluminum or plastic (available at hobby store). Trace the outline from the discarded rear window and from the piece taken from the Ertl diecast. Then use hobbist body filler to finish the seam and then paint.

...any pics of a finished "conversion"? I already have a black '02 Welly apart with plans for an SOM paint job. If this isn't too tough to do, ...I may go for it. Thanks, Kevin

Was at the local hobby store at noon, and found a black 1/18 Welly '02 SS, with the gray interior. Bought it, plus some chrome five spoke 1/18 wheels & tires, and some bright red paint.
