I'm a newbie here. What's the relationship between the two? Is there an SSOA club. What's the purpose of joining if there is.

Chirpthird is the SSOA board. The SSOA is a great group. The advantages are the package you get for joining (birth certificate certified by SLP, SSOA stickers and license frame, etc.), the specials and events for SSOA members, and being part of this great group of enthusiasts.

it is actually the Letter of Authenticity signed by SLP and Teri Heino. you can however get the Birth Certificate from SLP which describes your particular SS. it basically looks like a real birth cert., but with info. on your car. Could someone post a pic of one? can't remember the costs. something like one time fee of $25.00 to join. Well worth it in my book.

Sorry to be off topic but, ... Buddy, you have a beautifull '70 Z28 there. I hope one day I can add something like that to my stable. I love multi-generational members and their cars!

The birth certificate looks kind of cool. Does this somehow verify the cars authenticity more? When I got the car the only thing I didn't save was the white pieces of plastic protecting the fenders/doors/hood/trunk lid. I have every sticker, box, and any other literature/ordering form(1LE, Auburn, Hurst, No ASR, No T-tops, 12 Disc, Center Mount Exhaust, Key Fobs, Car cover, Chrome ZR1's) associated with buying/owning the car. The stickers I'd never use. I don't put stickers on my car. They would probably look good on the toolbox though. License plate holder, no thanks.

The SSOA is the Super Sport Owner's Association. It was created for owners of '96 and newer Camaro SS's in December 1999. We have surpassed the 800 member mark. chirpthird.com does the hosting for the SSOA Message Forum and OUR WEBSITE.
You can find information on what the SSOA offers at THIS LINK.

Owners of 35th Anniversary LE Camaros will receive an additional piece of signed documentation for their vehicle, and be logged in the Official 35th Anniversary LE Owners Registry. This documentation will state your individual LE production number. Note: This will happen AFTER the 35th Registry is formed.

Please note that the SSOA is run entirely on volunteerism. Member packets are verified & mailed in batches. Please allow at least 12 weeks for delivery.
The Birth Certificate posted is the one available as part of the SLP Portfolio. The SSOA Letter of Authenticity is a different piece of documentation. Perhaps someone can post a picture of theirs so you can see the difference.

Here is my 'L.o.A.' from the SSOA. As you can see, ( as Teri said above ) it is quite different from the 'SLP' purchased Birth Certificate like the one that 'Buddy' posted a pic of.
