Cover the car in thick blankets, then the car cover, while it's in the garage because you can discern small traces of the cat's paw prints on the hood after they walk on it.

You bought mods for your SS the day after you ordered it. i.e. white wheels & new tires, an STB, floor mats, skip shift eliminator, etc.
Are you my long lost sister?
I have already ordered a bunch of interior plastic, shifter knob and boot, pedal pads, turn signal stalk, and a new steering wheel from GM. I'm banking on the day they won't make parts any more and the seemingly god-awful parts prices now, even with my discounts, will seem like a bargain by then. Next I'm probably going to get some seat material and emergency brake handle....
All the "stock" parts I have stashed away in the event I ever want to restore it to showroom original condition.

....you come to chirpthird and post about how bad you got the fever to people who, for the most part, consider it ~abnormal~ that you think there may be something wrong with you.
....you will drive around the grocery store parking lot for 10 minutes trying to find the "safest" parking spot for your car, walk for 5 minutes each way, and spend 2 minutes in the store to just get milk.
....(along the same line) you avoid an establishment altogether becasue they have crappy parking and expect you to park next to someone else's car.
....you think nothing of spending 2 hours cleaning your Camaro but you complain if your spouse takes a 20 minute shower.
....you install those rubber catch-all type of floor mats for regular driving because you don't want the factory floor mats that are protecting your carpet to get dirty. And as Teri and Steve said, you only put your spare set of SS floor mats in for shows.

...you come out of a store to see someone roll up and park next to your car in what you think is the safest spot, which raises your pulse, and while they're getting out you are saying under your breath "Don't you do it...don't you EVEN...." All this because of your paranoia of AUTOMATICALLY assuming everyone that inadvertently parks next to your car wants to pop it with their car door. (of course, you're always 2 miles away from your car when you see them)
I'm sure there are countless thousands of others. It's ironic, a car that can be so powerful and nasty on the street can be so helpless and defenseless in a parking lot. Posts: 577 | From: Aiken, SC | Registered: May 2002
