We needed the moisture pretty badly out here, so while it was a pain to dig out (took about 2 hours to dig the "tunnel" out of my driveway for SS), it was really good to see the white stuff.
The Blizzaks will get a workout tomorrow.
Of course, when all of this melts, there will be tons of flooding everywhere, which isn't much better.

It's amazing how well our SS's can drive int he winter with snow! Just some good winter tires adn weight in the trunk and we're set! Glad to see at least ONE other person on here drive their SS in the Snow

Wish you could send a few inches of the white stuff our way. We didnt get ANY this year down on the valley floor, and not much in the mountains either. I feel for your car. My question is, why is the SS in the snow, and the sport ute in the garage???? Posts: 1443 | From: Lake Oswego, Oregon | Registered: Dec 2001

I totally agree -- it's all about the tires. I love driving my SS in the white stuff. It's worth it to see the really strange looks from people. It's like they can't believe I'm actually able to drive in the snow.
My wife gives me grief that the Camaro is the "winter" car. Heh heh ...

I drive my 98 TA all winter and my wife drives her 94 Vette all winter, and they are both good cars in the snow with the proper tires. We put dedicated snow tires on all four corners.
However, there is one thing you do have to watch out for. Both of these cars are bottom breathers (radiator cooling air enters from the bottom) and if you go blasting through deep snow or snow drifts too quickly you can pack the radiator air intake FULL of snow. The car then proceeds to overheat!!!!!
Guess how we both know this one. It is no fun getting down on your hands and kness by the side of a highway in the middle of a blizzard to clean out the intake.
Other than that, they are both a lot of fun in the winter.

Definitely Gino's fault. When My dad had the '63 split window vette, he drove that all the time! Yes, tires helped out a lot. Never thought to check the radiator, althouh the most I drove in was about 6 inches.
