I wasn't sure where to post this so picked this spot. I finally got myself registered here. I've seen a few familar names while I was looking around. Looking forward to chatting with everyone. Be forwarned, I have lots of questions.
My first is where can I get a black bow tie emblem? I want to replace the red one my car came with with a new black one so it can be seen. Anyone have any ideas of how much these are or where they can be found?

Hey! welcome over here! I belevie I have seen you on the SLP board a lot. I frequent that board but I dont post much there. So are you an offical SSOA member yet?
Anyways, I haven't seen a black bow tie before, but I dont know much, I'm sure others will chime in. I wouldn't this it would be too hard to paint one of the red ones adn then clear coat it. But that's the long way around things
Take care!

Yep, I've been on SLP since Oct. Haven't posted much anywhere lately. My son has football 2 nights a week and games on Sat. I'm teaching classes at a local store and we're trying to sell our house and find a new all of which leaves very limited time for other stuff.
I'm just waiting to get my SSOA packet of stuff but since the check got cashed I'm calling myself a member.
I'm surprised no one sells the black bow ties. I can't be the only one that would be interested in them. Is there an easy way to get in touch with Teri9627? Any anyone have a price guestimate on them?

Welcome Krista. You are going to enjoy it here. These are all a great bunch and will help you out with answers to your questions. i have asked quite a few myself. As for the black chevy emblem, Have you tried your closest Chevy Dealer or maybe you can pick one up at a swap meet. There might also be OEM's out there ( original equipment makers ) that may have some to sell. I hope this helped out. Posts: 2841 | From: Westland, MI | Registered: Apr 2003

Just my .02 cents worth....I know it's probably a style thing you are trying to accoplish but....Chevy..I don't know if they do this anymore but Red, Gold or Blue Bow-ties had significance...I doubt GM direct would manufacture that color but I'm sure aftermarket does somewhere.

Have you tried RK Sport? Part #01011323 and ask for Black. They are $24.95 ea.

Welcome! I am not sure of which years, but some of the recent Impala SS's had black emblems. If you find a parts guy at a Chevy dealer who will spend a few minutes with you and look up the differant years you can then get the right one. I think it was '94 or '95 but I could be wrong.

I remember seeing them on the Impala SS. They were black with a red outline if I am correct. So I figured that maybe a Chevy dealer would be the best to go to. But also aftermarket companies could be of help as well. Posts: 2841 | From: Westland, MI | Registered: Apr 2003

Welcome aboard! BobsSS took my answer! I've got the RKSport CAMARO fill-ins. If the black bow tie is of the same quality, then it's top notch.
