Listen up GM.

I had to replace the front plastic bumper shroud on my Grand Cherokee due to damage (I won't say how it was damaged - I'm too embarassed).

Here's the good customer service part.
- I 'phoned the Chrysler dealer last Thursday, and was promised part by Tuesday (yesterday).
- Received a call from the Chrysler dealer at lunch yesterday advising the part was in and they could put it on Wednesday (today).
- I arranged to drop off the Jeep at 8:00 AM, today, and the dealer advised it would only take an hour to replace, and that I could wait for it if I liked. - I liked!
- So I dropped the Jeep off as planned, and went to the corner coffee shop to wait.
- I returned to the dealer at 9:00 AM, the repair was finished, as promised, and they had washed the Jeep (a bonus).
- The quality of work was great (although it was a relatively simple job).
- When I was presented with the invoice it was almost 25% less than the estimate. Apparently Chrysler had lowered the part cost to the dealer, and the dealer passed the reduction on to me (another bonus).

So, now I'm a fully satisfied customer - the job was done right and on time. The wash and lower cost were bonuses, and exceeded my expectations. Guess where I'm going the next time I'm thinking about replacing the Jeep? (did someone say 400+ HP Hemi Magnum? [Big Grin] )

Now, if I just hadn't damaged the Jeep in the first place ...... [Roll Eyes]

Great story. I agree that service that beats expectations is the best way to garner customer loyalty.

About the courtesy wash ... I specifically ask for them not to .... I figure that 100% cotton and Z7 are foreign to them [Roll Eyes]

John, are you considering Skyline?

I agree about the wash, but the Jeep is my 'beater' and having it washed (at all) is a bonus.

I won't be going to Skyline. My first Camaro 'event' will be the Ontario Nationals, June 13-15.

Unfortunately I did it, and Karen has been good enough not to rub it in - too much. [Big Grin]

Okay, okay, quit twisting my arm.

Here's my story. I pulled into a parking spot at Home Depot, facing another car. When I came out of the store, the car in front was gone. So, being the good time manager that I am, I thought I'd save some time (microseconds) by driving straight out of the parking space, and BANG I hit something. I got out of the Jeep and there, imbedded in the plastic shroud in front of my front tire, was a sign pointing to the garden center, sticking out of one of those cement deck post bases. The Jeep sits so high, I didn't see the sign below the hood line. So, if you want to know where the garden center is at our local Home Depot, I'll need to point the Jeep in the right direction. [Big Grin] And, since I didn't want to give Home Depot any free advertising, I thought it was best to remove the sign and get a new shroud. [Big Grin]

As far a Skyline goes, I just don't want to share a room with you guys - I'm too shy. [Big Grin] j/k. Seriously, it's a time thing, as I won't be able to get away before the 13th. I'm in Michigan for most of the week prior to Skyline, and will be playing catch-up on that weekend. [Frown]
