Pewter Z28 and a blue Mustang are sittin at a light and a cop pulls up right behind 'em. Light turns green and they both take off never having noticed the cop in the rear view.

Somehow he managed to get them both pulled over and wrote 'em up.

i saw that one a few months ago. i couldn't believe it, and neither could the cop. i'm surprised that Z28 actually pulled over.

and did you hear what the mustang driver said
"well, i told him that if he stays off it until i could get in second, i would leave him in the dust." or something to that effect. oh, yeah right, the camaro could have let the mustang get into 3rd and still whip him. whatever. [Roll Eyes]

Just missed it. I saw the cop talking to the drivers...I was wondering what cars they were driving. Guess they didn't know what those mirrors are for... [Big Grin]

Well now.... here's an interesting thing. The exact thing happened to me, many many years ago.

I was driving a Mustang, a buddy pulled up next to me, at the red light. It was night. He started
revving his engine a bit - a stick shift Pinto!

I looked in the rear view mirror, there was a
car right behind me, lone male driver. As the light turned green we both "hit it". Yep the car
right behind me was a cop. He hit the roof lights
and we both stopped. The thing is when I checked
the mirror, he was so close that I could not see the roof rack - just looked like a salesman in
a full size car. So - I could see how it could
happen! [Roll Eyes]

My auto-dim rear view mirror mod makes it much easier to see the driver behind you at night because they generally get close enough to your rear bumper to block out their headlights, causing the mirror to "undim" and making it easier for you to make out markings, uniforms, etc.

Something like this happened to me in my 98 Black SS.. I pulled up to a light.. and a cop pulled out of the quik trip and poked up behind me... the car next to me revved.. and I didn't do a double look.. got half way throught the interesection (doing about 40mph) before i noticed the cop... got pulled over... but the cop let me go.. told me not to be an idiot.. said I should drive safe... was real nice actually.
