Do you have an automatic transmission or a manual? Where did you make your connection to the backup lamp circuit, and what connector did you use?

I have a manual... I didn't hook up that part of the mirror. To be honest I hardly ever drive it at night so I wasn't too woried about it, I wanted it more for the temp. Sorry I can't help you more. If I were going to hook it up I would probably just tap into the reverse light circuit. Another reason I didn't hook it up was I didn't want to hack to t-loc into any wiring. Everything I did was stand alone and could be removed.

I can't believe these fine cars did not have the mirror installed from the factory. Posts: 5682 | From: Dearborn,Mi. | Registered: Feb 2002

If the car was parked in a garage when it was daylight outside, the mirror light sensor would darken the mirror. So when the car is in reverse the mirror brightens so you get a better view.On the orginal autodimming mirrors that a 3rd Gen Camaro may of had,the mirror actually had an electric motor to flip it up or down and when in reverse it went to the brighter position also.
