well, less likley a new camaro SS is on the horizon from SLP Eng. But then again, you can't really put the two together. But then again, I'm always open to new hints, rumors, or news on the future of the Camaro. If there is one

Yeah, and monkeys will fly out of my butt!!
Seriously, that would be VERY cool if they did. But only if they did it right. I'll cut a check in advance to the Fbodfather for him to hold until they make it official. Never say 'never' and always avoid saying 'always'. Posts: 577 | From: Aiken, SC | Registered: May 2002

an 07 is highly unlikely from what I've seen. This is either an extremely guarded secret, or we're not going to see one till '08 at the earliest. I seriously doubt they'd come back on a non anniversery year as well.

Well, I guess you'll have to find out at the event.

I believe one of the challenges that SLP faced was that GM, when they introduced their Performance Division, put an end to "second sticker" product like the Firehawk and Y2Y content on the SS.
That, a distinct lack of suitable product in the GM portfolio to tweak, the whole marketing issue, and nothing to offer their most loyal customers clinched it
I believe the hints have been plenty strong that a 5th Gen Camaro is on the way, based on VE architecture from Australia, with a look not too far off a 2 door version of the Chevrolet SS.
The next BIG news from Chevrolet will be the unvieling of the C6 at the NAIAS.

In last months Popular Hot Rodding there was an article on the "New Camaro". At this point and time the platform was still being discussed and decided between 3.
I agree to wait until FbodFather makes a statement el ess1 and hopefully monkeys will fly then. Hopefully not from the areas you are talking about though.

I have a quote from the Fbodyfather - "remember we had no 1983 Corvette".
I took that to mean the model is in hiatus and will return. Name and brand recognition are very important, the Camaro had both. That alone is worth millions to an auto maker. I'd bet the farm that Camaro will return.

I agree with Hawkeye. Name recognition and brands like Camaro are expensive and hard to build and I'd bet Camaro is not going away for good. The FBod could not be tweaked to continue life. It was just too expensive...my money's still on a variation of what holden is building for Pontiac...the '04 GTO. They are already talking about aftermarket stuff for it, such as new version of "The Judge" and the '05 GTO having some of the stuff they left off the '04, such as Ram Air. Andy

A chevrolet version of the new GTO would (should) be a Chevelle, not a Camaro...Although GM has done sillier things... remember the mid 80's "resurrection" of the Nova name? Posts: 88 | From: PA | Registered: Aug 2003
