Mark - 02 35th LE, has just inherited a 12 CD changer unit from one of Scott's kids that didn't make it.
I see the wiring harness has a plug in it. Is it a direct plug in? How will it work with the in dash CD from the factory? Does the in dash unit become disabled?
Anyone done this yet?
Thanks,
Brian.

The earlier LS1 cars could not have a CD in the dash and a changer.
I beleive that changed in either '99 or '00. Anything after '00, the headunit can be either a CD or Tape and still control a changer. To tell if it will work, the button should be labeled CD / AUX. With that setup you can use the indash player and the changer, multiple presses of the CD/AUX button switch between them.

I believe Mike is correct. This came up a long, long time ago. Did it have anything to do with HTWLSS? The 98 and 99 cars' head unit won't work with the changer unless you have a tape deck. If you have a in dash CD it won't work and you need to get a post 99 head unit.
Whoever said you couldn't run away from your problems obviously wasn't driving an SS. Posts: 942 | From: Santa Barbara and Ventura, CA | Registered: Feb 2000
