Yo Steve, I picked up a copy of Camaro Performers last night in the grocery store.
Later, I'm reading in bed while the wife is watching re-runs on TV. I say "Holy Chit!!!"
She says...well she didn't say anything so I said it again, "HOLY CHIT!!!"
She says, "What"
I say, "Here's Steven's Camaro in the magezine!!!"
I showed her the pics and remindered her of when we met you and the car in Vegas at the Camaro Legends Tour. We remenisced (sp?) about the 35 or so coupons we all got for SLP board members and going for a drive in the ZL1 with Fbodfather at the wheel.
I told her you sold it and are now building a 69 show car.
It was nice articale albeit somewhat brief, but most of their articles are.
Anyway, I remembered you posting about the photoshoot, but I forgot which magezine.

Thanks guys.. thats the fun thing about Camaro Performers mag.. its on the stands FOREVER.. lol..
Its a reprint of the Super Chevy feature but the pics are bigger and the layout is better.. I had "in the news" laminate that one rather than the Super Chevy one for my office wall.
And to think, that shoot was done BEFORE I didnt eh major engine blingfest (can be seen on my website).. I miss the car but this 69 is gonna be a monster.. Im in negotiations with RECARO for sponsorship.. they will probley offer me a silly 10% discount.. but you never know till you ask
In about a week we yank the subrame and install the new powder painted one, then install the tubular coil-over suspension and wilwood brakes. They we strip down the motor, hot tank it and powder paint the block charcoal grey metallic and the heads in near-chrome. ALL engine bolts will be polished stainless ARP bolts from Hillco.. At the end of September the car goes into the bodyshop to get blocked, aligned and re-shot proper like..
After that I rest
The person that bought my car absolutely loves it.. and that makes me proud..
Thanks again, Steve (1969) SS

67&02 -- we LOVE that pic.. i think it will go on my website
lots of chrome and billet.. gotta find the right mix.
Subframe will be pearlesent grey with a clear coat.. block will be the same charcoal I used on the 2000 and the heads will be Reflectra and clear (near chrome).. with the black firewall, radiator support and inner fenders it should have a nice effect.. I have Hillco Fasteners as a sponsor now so you KNOW you will see LOTS of bowtie bolts and annodized trim washers
I will be glad when its mid November and these BIG projects are done.. then I can cruise and enjoy it some.. Posts: 228 | From: Corona, CA | Registered: Oct 2000

Just dont expect me to win anything.. the engine area should be nice (and the brakes/wheels) but the car will not have gone to the paint/body shop and the interior while clean has "issues"
The goal is to have the car in decent shape for next season.. Posts: 228 | From: Corona, CA | Registered: Oct 2000
