It's differant looking !! Is that a bow-tie in the center of the grill? or maybe another Holden Import? Not bad looking, but i'd need to see it up close.

It's a Mini-El Camino! I still rememeber that El Camino concept car they did a few years back the Impala SS body. That was sweet. I wonder where that car is at now?

The pic is of the Holden Ute SS, It is not likely to show up here as the El Camino on this platform. However, there is a very strong likelyhood of an El Camino based on the updated platform being jointly designed by GMNA and Holden. This platform will support RWD cars from Pontiac,Buick and Chevy and debut as '07 models. Oh, and these will be built here with sheetmetal designed for the North American market. My pleasure. When I hear of any news about this I'll post it. As my screen name indicates, it's a topic close to my heart.

I don't know about you guys... but this might sound like good news RWD North American Cars for both Pontiac and Chevrolet on an anniversary year for the Camaro?

The latest I've heard is that these are the likely cars for the platform. Buick Roadmaster sedan Chevy El Camino Possibly a Monte Carlo or Chevelle or Camaro An Impala sedan A Grand Prix sedan and the next gen GTO
Not bad possibilities. Posts: 115 | From: PA | Registered: Aug 2003

All of the Holden cars are awesome. And most are LS1 powered. At least we have a start at importing some of those cars starting with the GTO!
If you want to see more of the models go to gm.com and look for the Holden site.

I really don't care if it's a Camaro or not. I'd personaly love to see a dramatic comeback of the Chevelle. I just don't think the name sounds "catchy" enough for today's standards. I could definately see a RWD Monte and Grand Prix sharing the same platform. Giving them a little bit of a performance boost and making them the slightly higher performance cars they used to be.
I feel it would be best if they created a completely new car rather than using an old nameplate on a new car.

It sells for about 20K our $$ down under(w/ls1). If they could even come close to that price here they would sell like crazy, I'd be the first in line.

That "cowcatcher" reminds me too much of the ricey replacement crap they paste on the cars here. Kinda ugly in my book.

Funny you should ask that...Dont know where it is right now, but Thurs, Fri, and Sat of this past week it was on display at the GM tent at the Bristol Motor Speedway! I was a bit surprised to see it, since I hadn't seen it around in a few years, but it was there on display!
My dad is a big El Camino fan, (had a '76 up until the late 80's). It was kinda funny...for once HE was the one drooling on a concept vehicle behind velvet ropes instead of ME! LOL

GM should add "Nomad" to that list! Get it through marketing by calling it a "crossover" vehicle.

I think that is just what it is. Doesn't look like the stock fascia. The front styling would be different on any US model anyway.

this is my sig on another site. It is a one-off built for the Holden racing team. Equipped with a Calloway-tweaked LS6 and a 6spd. Sorry to the SLP folks that have seen me post it before.

They won't bring that to the US. They would sell to many and be unable to keep up with demand.
Heck I wish the ENTIRE HOLDEN line up was available here. As well as the HSV line too. I'm not asking much. I just want a different choice.
Let me see we have: 1) Mustang 2) Mustang Cobra 3) Saleen Mustang 4) Steeda Mustang 5) Roush Mustang see a pattern here????? 6) Kenny Brown Mustang 7) Sean Hyland Mustang
Then there is: 1) Subaru WRX 2) Subaru WRX/Sti 3) Mitsu Lancer Evo 4) VW R32 5) Dodge SRT-4 Neon (a FREAKING NEON, can you believe it??)
Maybe I should just jump ship and buy that Damn WRX/STi....300hp awd, Brembos, racing buckets etc...A few tweaks here and there, 400hp AWD. AND still be able to drive it year round.
Then of course there is that Cobra Mustang..hmmm.... Posts: 1031 | From: Germantown, MD USA | Registered: Feb 2000
