Mark is one of my all time favorites too. I watched him race Trans Am cars numerous times both in Camaro's and Javelin's. But the Can Am series with him driving the awesome Porsche Turbo was by far my favorite.
He was one of the best racers of all time!

I was lucky enough to see the Porsche 917s run at Mid-Ohio during the CAN-AM heyday. I'll never forget it. Posts: 44 | From: The Lone Star State | Registered: Dec 2002

We were probably at the same race......I saw Mark run at Mid-Ohio too. I am originally from Ohio so the Glen and Mid Ohio are two tracks I am really familiar with.

They'll have most of the cars and crew form his teams there, as well as on track running of the equipment. Hopefully a dozen rolls of film will be enough.

... headed out in about 20 min for 'the Glen'. It's going to be a fantastic week-end of vintage race cars, actually racing, and, historically, some of the most influencial people in motorsports today.
If anyone here is going, you might be able to reach me on my mobile phone (301) 466-7883.

Have fun! My father is going, so I'll get to see his pictures. He knows a lot of those folks since he was the Sunoco rep to Penske racing back in the '60s. Posts: 44 | From: The Lone Star State | Registered: Dec 2002
