I like to pop that into the DVD and crank up the volume when the V8 withdrawal symptoms gets to severe during the winter months Another good remedy is the chase in Bullit. Damn that Mustang sounds good! Too bad I haven't found anything with Camaro's in it instead

Wraith is another one.... its pretty cheesy, but there's a cool black car in it, driven by a ghost who races the bad guys, and gets them to kill themselves by causing wrecks.

Vanishing Point, first time I saw it I was 13, The naked chick on the Honda Z 50 was the best Gumball Rally was awesome and I enjoyed the scene in Gone in 60 sec. with Nick driving Elenor, the rest of the movie was so-so.

If you like CART racing, Driven's not bad, esp the part where he picks up the quarters with the rear tires...
If you can find it, The California Kid is a cool movie, w/Vic Morrow & Martin Sheene,
Others on my list, and some of these are from a long time ago....
Vanishing Point American Grafitti Thunder Road (Robert Mitchum) Red Line 8000 Hot Rods to Hell (Dana Andrews) Days of Thunder (Tom Cruze) Two Lane Blacktop Le Manns Bullit

I'll have to find Vanishing Point. I don't remember that one.
American Graffiti is GREAT!!
BadRag,
I CAN NOT believe you said Driven. That was the most awful movie I've seen in ages. We let Bret pick when we went and that's what he choose. Sly's acting was as awful as the rest of them. Some of the drive scenes were cool but that was about it.
I couldn't find Cannonball Run last night but I'll have to keep checking for it.
What other car movies (any of them f-body specific) ya got??

I found this link, which lists movies containing a Trans Am. Most of them are only very brief appearances, but it lists car movies nonetheless.
http://www.texastransams.com/stories/movies.htm ------------------------------------------------- Also, in "Better off Dead", the main character restores a black first-gen Camaro. They give it a good amount of screen time, but the movie is by no means a "car" movie.
In the movie "Heat" with Robert DeNiro, and Val Kilmer (sp??), they rob a bank, and drive around in early 4th gen Camaros near the end of the movie. Once again, not a car movie, but the Camaros get a decent amount of screen time.

Krista...yea, Driven is a typical Sly movie...boring, but i like the part about the quarters, that would be very hard to do... Most of the movies i listed are kinda hokey, but have some neat cars in them...Hot rods to hell is a cult classic as is Thunder road. Enjoy.

Thanks BadRag. Once we get moved into the new house a movie night might be just the kind of slow, takin' it easy kind of night we need. I'll keep an eye out for those others.

I used to watch "Corvette Summer" everytime is played it was on TV atleast once a year haven't seen it in a long time. Its about a high school kid that restores a corvette as part of his auto body shop class and the teacher sold the car and made it look like it was stolen and the kid tracks the car down and steals it back. great movie!!

That movie definitely got me into f-bodies. I'd love to have one of those 2nd gen TA's.

P.S. The first movie is better than the second.
But what's even better is the original movie which the two Cannonball Run movies copied: Gumball Rally.

I agree - I saw that when it was in the theatre - some really great cars in it, especially the "title" car. By the way, guess who the star of that movie was?

If he still has it in a year or two, I'd probably be very interested in talking to him. Right now I don't have the room for it.

Vanishing point...hmmm, that's the dude in the challenger that's hauling butt, then shows a 1st gen Camaro crashing into the bulldozers and slowly rolling backwards on fire? I think that was a Camaro, but whatever it was, it wasn't the car that went in. I saw Vanishing Point at the drive-in (oops, showing my age) for the first time, and I bought into it. I never noticed it until I saw it on TV years later.
