Well I got a little carried away this weekend (with Robs help) and COMPLETELY dissasembled my 69 Camaro (gutted the interior).. decided that the only way im going to be happy is a complete re-paint of the car.. fenders off, etc..
Soooooooooooo.. since this is happening I dont HAVE to stay with the current yellow.. I like the yellow and if I was going yellow I would keep this shade (not bright but more creamy)..
My choices? Oh, only OEM colors, no blacks, greys or reds.. a nice bright color with nothing too dark (electron blue is too dark)
Keep it Canary Yellow..? I love this color.. and its unique
WRX blue pearl metallic: so its import.. its a beautiful shade of blue..
Or some other suggestions.. I love blues but i dont want lemans or marina because EVERYBODY has that.. want something different.. maybe even a lighter blue like on a Mini Cooper S..
Thoughts, opinions??

Yes but it cant be Hugger Orange.. im going with an OEM color other than one that was available to the car.. I dont want to be just another hugger orange or marina blue 69...
Yellow with charcoal grey stripes? hmmmm.. so many choices it making me dizzy..

I like the bright yellow on it now. Don't see that very often...yeah...you see the stock color yellow...but its dull.
Car looks great as it is colorwise.
What color did you decide to go for the engine since that thread on the 3-letter board died with it?

OEM as in an manufacturer's paint? IOW.......I want to do a Firemist Orange 2nd Gen.......I believe that color (name might be wrong) is offered on late model Ford Rangers and other cars.
This color really pops in the sun It's the same color the "Copperhead" Truck project on the TV show Trucks is painted.
There's a ton of Lemans Blue Pro Touring Camaros out there...mine included...
Personally......I love the yellow it is now!

I just love the maroon color of the 40th anniversary Vettes from 93. And unlike the 50th, I don't believe they use a tinted clear coat to acheive the color (I would be afraid of that for purposes of repaints or touchups). With black, grey, silver, white (or carbon fiber) accents in the interior, engine compartment, etc.........that would be one classy car. I also like the Yellow that the car is painted now. But your choices of contrasting colors for the areas mentioned above are quite limited if you want to have a tastefull car.

Millenium Yellow? Or Viper Yellow? I love the idea of the yellow with dark gray stripes!
We all know it's going to look awesome no matter what you end up doing. Keep up the good work.

Personally, I love a bright silver with black stripes. Old school, I know. But period correct and very cool! Posts: 322 | From: Fort Polk, LA | Registered: Feb 2002

There is a blue that was on the 1998 Accords that I love. My sister had one and I used to say that every car manufacturer should offer that color. It's similar to LeMans blue but a little darker.
Laser Red that is offered on current Ford models, including the Mustang. I'm not a big fan of red but this color is beautiful on the right car. it doesn't look that good on the Ford SUV's.
I am also a big silver fan. Someone on another board painted his SS a kind of steel gray color that is nice.
White with charcoal stripes would be nice.
Or you could go with General Lee orange!

How do Medium Spiral Gray Metallic stripes on a Millenuim Yellow car (current Corvette colors) grab you? Posts: 7198 | From: Near Portland, Oregon, USA | Registered: Feb 2000

You could paint it purple and put an LS6 in it.
Seriously, I like the color it is. Yellow with black stripes has always been my favorite for Camaros. Posts: 107 | From: San Marcos, CA | Registered: Jun 2002

Ding Ding Ding.. we have a winner.. yellow with dark charcoal grey stripes.. Will most likely stay with the current shade of yellow since it is very close to millenium yellow but with spiral grey stripes.. im thinking of shooting the dash (the guage area and the metal parts) the same spiral grey.. sort of a two tone with the black dash and rest of interior
Thanks for the input.. Posts: 228 | From: Corona, CA | Registered: Oct 2000

The dash would look good in Spiral Gray. You could also bring in some of the yellow into the interior (but not too much).

I like the Yellow you have personally. Since Chevy found it not a good color for the 4th Gen.
But what about Nassau Blue? I think Chevy offered that in 98. Thats a pretty cool color. Yellow would be my first choice though.

I like the color it is now. But seems like Yenko used a blue or green that was kinda lite.
