BIG GOVERNMENT is what happened...... at all levels.....local, city, county, state, etc.
Now we expect the Government to provide for all kinds of things so we pay for it in taxes. I would think that list you posted will get nothing but BIGGER as time goes on.

Our ForeFathers fought for no taxation without representation. Seems to me that translation got lost somewhere down the road and so we end up footing the bill while government execs make out with having to pay nothing but reaping the rewards.
