This was just brought up by a friend of mine tonight. I was under the impression that you needed the base Z1 coat for all the other coats of Z2 and Z5 to stay on and 'locked on'. Thus, it's called the "Polish Lok" My friend just brought this to my attention. I never used the ZFX yet, but down the road I may. I already about about 20 coats of Z2/Z5 on. I got him hooked after I did his car for the first time a month or two ago. He finally ordered the whole package. Just making sure he didn't need to borrow my Z1 since The package doesn't come with it. Here's an excerpt from the Zaino site for the ZFX:
quote: ZFX™ can be used with any of our Show Car Polish products, including Z-2™, Z-3™ and Z-5™. Plus, ZFX™ makes using Z-1™ Polish Lok unnecessary on cars that have been clayed and thoroughly cleaned with Dawn dishwashing liquid.
Thanks all in advance (Kevin, Ken, et al.)

That's correct, no Z1 necessary with ZFX, although I use it anyway as a way to be sure that I have a good surface for the Z2.

Everyone listen to Daddy! No need for Z1 - however remember to mix only as much as you need. Once you add the ZFX it does not keep very long. Posts: 5558 | From: Windsor, Ontario. Canada | Registered: Feb 2000

I haven't sold a Z-1 since ZFX came out. You are correct, Z-1 is no longer needed. In fact, look for the Z-1 to eventually dissappear from availability.
With the ZFX you definitely use it the first time, I recommend the first few coats, at least twice a year or every 10 coats, as with the Z-1.
