DUB, Good God are you a stupid SOB. Don't you release how many people have been killed in the Carolinas by hurricanes, how many homes have been destroy, lives wreaked. Don't you remember what Fran did to western Wake county and Cary? Fran killed 3 people here in Wake county, your home. Floyd killed 73 people in North Carolina. That was just 4 years ago.

Grow up!
I sure do, i was here during fran and loved every minute of it. i don't want anyone to get killed or hurt, that is the horrible part of it. however, from a meteorological standpoint it is pretty awesome and my friends and I are pretty stoked.
I"m sorry, but have to kinda agree with Bdub in a way. For meteorologists and scholars of the like, if there was no insterest in these storms, then preventative measures adn plans can not be written up in these such cases both at the local, state and federal governments. Think...becasue of what these people do in studying these storms, how many more people they save each storm after. There has to be a nut in one or two of us!Sure, you cant save every life, or every home (on the east coast, houses are now build strong for example). I think ya get my gist. Nevertheless, glad I'm not down there, and hope you folks fair out ok. You'll be in my thoughts! Glad it has weakened.

Gotta agree with most people in this thread, as awesome as the storms are, the toll in human lives and property damage they cause does not justify any kind of celebration.

To all of you in the path - hang on to something! My poor aunt lives in western PA and thinks she will get flooded as it makes it's way out.
I am soooo glad I live on the west coast!
