Guys and Gals need some help here!

For the past two years my SLP airbox always comes unlatched after i take the beast for a drive. My intake setup right now is the SLP airbox, K&N filter, and SLP cold air intake. Could the problem be the filter? I know before I drive the box is sitting in its tabs and the latches are pulled down. What could be the cause of the box being half open when i return from a drive? I have emailed SLP PP and Kevin Woodruff suggested i first try the boards to see if a simple fix is out there.

thanks for any help

Is it the SLP OEM air box? The right side lid clip seems to be unlatched on my GM OEM lid at times.Maybe the air box is warped.

Forget to mention.. this is the SLP Performance Parts Airbox... i bought that box before the OEM airbox was ready. It could be the K&N but before i drive the car the box seems as its seated firmly and the clips are in place. Greg the box could be warped. I'll just have to email SLP PP again and see what they want to do.

Thanks guys

I have both the SLP PP Lid and K&N filter (not using the 'seal' that cam with it as it was on my oem airbox). I havent had any problems. THe clips on mine go on tight. You might want to try bending the clasps so they go on tighter. I've heard people do that and it works. Good luck! [Smile]

I also have the SLP PP Lid and K&N filter and I haven't had any problems. Maybe check the clamps?

I've got the SLP Performance lid and my latches were coming unhooked initially. I think you just have to be really sure that the rear of the lid is shoved all the way back into the 2 openings. This sets in lid in the right position. I've not had any trouble lately.

only thing I can think was mentioned. Make sure those rear tabs are really seated all the way back.

I had the PP lid. I bought the SLP OE lid. The OE lid makes aftermarket lids feel like flimsy pieces of plastic.
