well. ..since Shelby (or newly fostered older golden retriever) arrived... Keona has been getting progressively more agressive with her. It all started well...with Keona "tolerating her" and licking her mouth (only when I was looking)...;o). Keo remained Omega.. but starting stepping out alittle.

this morn...i let them all out back to play. Shelby went over to the fence to gaze at my neighbors german short haired pointer... Keo suddenly ran towards her.....Shelby turned... and charged... but wagging her tail... and commenced to chase Keona all over the yard making growling noises that sounded like a bull buffalo!!!! Keo didnt know what to do at first... but it turned into a big playing session.. the two of them would lock, but the old girl shelby won each scirmish... it was awesome! Reno didnt know what to do... he started to intervien a couple of times but always backed off..... Shelby simply put Keona in her place!!!! hahahahahaaaa. that was 2 hrs ago. its been nothing but fun around here since. Keona gaurds her in the yard now, and trots beside her everywhere.... no hair raised..... gotta luv this kind of social change in the animal world. I thank God i get to witness and understand thier behavior. Made my day!!

regards.

It is interesting and fun watching dogs at play.

There's an innoncence about it, yet if you
understand there are always agendas and
motives at work.

Nice looking Goldens. Maybe Shelby was lost,
not abandoned. In any event, she's home now. [Big Grin]

Ken,

OK. I have a dog question for you. Our Beagle is 10 months old. She's not very big and not mean. She still has a lot of trouble with putting her mouth on people. She isn't really biting, but she wants to kind of nibble on everyone, especially when she gets excited. She does this less to me than anyone else, but still,it's a problem. It's especially not something we want when there are small kids over, but she does it the most when she's excited. She gets excited a lot.

So how would you suggest we stop that behavior? [Smile]
