No surprise the M3 is on the list... and no surprise the Lancer is on there either.
I haven't driven a Mitsu but I have driven the WRX and let me tell you it is one fun little car. I'd love to get a hold of an STi for a few days.
You have to remember, unfortunately RWD V8 owners are the minority now... the market is a lot different now.

If it's pure SPORTS CARS, the Evolution and BMW don't belong there. THESE CARS ARE SEDANS PLAIN AND SIMPLE.......granted, they are sporty sedans but they are NOT sports cars.
And what about the Sports Cars that started the whole revolution like the MG, Triumph, Austin Healy, Alfa Romeao, etc etc etc? Who ever made up this list doesn't know Sports Cars well at all.

Actually, the current M3 is only available in a 2-door coupe so its not a Sedan.

Id like to know whats wrong with the M3? 333hp from a I6 not impressive enough? With cornering abilities that would hand any F-body , stock to stock ,its @ss. I dunno... I think some of ya should go test drive one.
No hard feelings... but I believe the M3 is a true sports car and belongs on that list.

"Webster's Third New International Dictionary, Unabridged" sport caralsosports carn: a low-slung open or convertible automobile designed for high-speed transportation on regular roads and having rapid acceleration, more or less smooth horizontal lines, and usu. seats for two people.
I think most enthusist would include hard tops, like the ZO6. But NO M3, Camaro's, mustang's, or any other sedan, coupe, or hard top that seats more than two people.
Can anyone think of an exception?
The advertizers have bastardized the English language to such an extent that we now have sports utility vehicals and sports trucks!!

I woudl consider a Porsche to be a sports car by all means, and I beleive some models (including the 911 Carrera) are 4 seats. Some day I would love to own a 911 Turbo!

M3: GREAT car but not a sports car... two doors don't make it a sports car. Just because it's fast doesn't make it a sports car, otherwise, top-fuel dragsters would be sports cars... I'm not sure Mustangs and F-bodies belong in the top ten list, either, unless bang-for-the-buck is considered.
EVO???? Nice rally car, great acceleration, not a sports car. If a Jap car even makes the top 10 list (they don't make mine), Honda NSX or S2000, Mazda RX-7 or Miata, or the old Datsun 240/260/280 Z series qualify, even a Mitsu Eclipse, but not an EVO.
How about any 1950's MG? Not necessarily fast, but definitely a sports car. Triumph TR3? Austin Healy? Where are the cars that defined the category?
