Be careful with your car....they're talking about all the ash that lands on them.....don't know if that will hurt the paint or not; it would sure make me nervous!!

With some luck the fires may be contained in the next couple days. Hopefully the smoke will start to clear and you will be able to enjoy yourself out here.

We are flying out and renting a car so no worries there. Just delays and smoke.

Actually I saw on FBody addict that MMM_ert had to evacuate his home. I hope everything is OK.

Smart move, the air quality is well beyond the "Poor" that they told you. My father-in- law suffers from asthma too, he is pretty much been confined to their house.
Come back and enjoy the beauty of San Diego when things are better.
...and yes, We are safe, we got evacuated yesterday at about 9:00 am...we had all the cars packed the night before so we were ready to bail when the cops came around the culdesac on the loudspeaker telling all residents to leave immediately.
Thought I'd never see our house again.
Thankfully, we were lucky and they stopped the fires directly North and South of us. 3 and 4 miles away is not much when the winds kick up. Sunday afternoon we were 25 miles from flames, Sunday at midnight 5 miles away...Monday morning 3 miles and this was with almost no winds and they were expecting the Santa Ana winds to pick up and blow right in our direction. Thankfully, that did not happen or I would probably be telling a different story this morning.
Whole neighborhoods were devastated...it is horrible and I can't imagine what that would feel like.
