Just currious.... is the warranty on the hood handeled by GM or SLP. My dad took his 02 SS in and the back of the hood rubs the plastic lower windshield trim on the hood (has since day one) and he just wants it adjusted since it rubs. Guess SLP wants digi pics and was wondering why he waited a year.... but the car only has 4K on it. I was under the impression that all "base" SS's were covered by the GM warranty (which his is)... I understand if its a 3rd sticker part that SLP would have say. Just currious since it seems like he is being given the run around plus he doesn't like leaving his car at the dealer any longer then necessary. Hope that makes sense.... [Confused]

Dave's been offline for a while, and Jeff cant get online during business hours... yet.

you got it.... base SS content is handled by the dealer and GM. (SLP was a supplier to GM for that content)

SLP second sticker content issues would be handled by the dealer and SLP.

(this is for 98+ SSs, 96-97 SSs were all SLP content)

so... that being said, SLP wouldnt be asking for the pics, has to be on the GM side.

Well they are... The dealer body shop said they have been in contact with SLP and THEIR warranty dept. and they want stuff(pictures). I know that they are not correct.... maybe I will have to give SLP a call myself and find out the real story....?

Ahhh yes.... the dealer was trying to submit to repaint the whole hood... which my dad DIDN'T want... he just wants it adjusted so when it opens the passenger corner doesn't contact the plastic trim on the bottom of the windshield. Hopefully we have things straightened out now... the body shop (carr) I think understands that they need to submit through the regular GM warranty. I got involved because they were jacking my dad around.... they had the car all week and they haven't done a thing. SO I thought I would flex a little of my "factory muscle".... [Big Grin]

Never heard of that one before, but to me it
would not be the hood, it would be the plastic
shield that might have to be moved??

Anyone else have this problem?

Let us know how they fixed it.
