What a drag. Right out of my Dad's driveway. What the heck. Criminals are getting way too brave these days. Luckily, or unluckily as the case may be, I had an appointment to have it totally repainted next week. That and I got the first of the restoration parts in just a week ago. Nothing put on yet. I've had the car since 1982 when I picked it up from the dealer with only 9 miles on it. This summer I started to get things lined up to completely restore the car, not that I haven't taken care of it, cause I have. But the fabric and seats along with some plastic just wore out after 20 years. Oh well, probably in a million pieces by now. Nothings turned up in three days so I doubt anything ever will. The Lowjack I had installed in the SS looks a whole lot cheaper now. And OnStar just got cheaper too!
Edit: Car is charcoal gray, crossfire injection engine, auto, 55,000 miles. Everything original.

Man that is a shame. You are right when you said that thieves are getting alot bolder now. I am sorry to hear about your loss. They will get theirs in the end. Posts: 2841 | From: Westland, MI | Registered: Apr 2003

usually things like that occurr through people you know an acquaintance or a Friend of a Friend... you get the picture.
Make a list of the people you know you've talked to (even if its long...) They might have told someone who has a less-than stellar past with the law..
They targeted your car.. waited till it was just ready to be re-painted
why not your neighbors Honda..
Your car was stolen specifically... it sounds like they knew exactly where you lived, the current status of the build of the car, and what was left to do ont it...
check with all paintshops in and nearby towns...
it sounds like the theif was knowledgable about cars... drive by auto shops, regularly, for the next few months to see if any new (shiney new Z28's with perfect body work.. say one of the employees have a new 82 Z28 or parts laying around that weren't there the last time you checked))
Dumb Luck you might Figure.. I think not...
I wish you the best... do not quit on trying to find the car...
They will get theris... what goes around comes around ...
