"Memorial vandalized Spray-painted anti-war slogans washed from monument's base
OTTAWA (CP) — Vandals spray-painted anti-war slogans on the National War Memorial early this morning, just hours before Remembrance Day ceremonies were to begin.
Police said that just before 5:30 a.m., black spray paint was used to deface the base of the memorial.
Staff from the National Capital Commission erased the slogans with a pressure washer."
This is where the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is located. Can you image if this was done at Arlington?
In my opinion, this is just like burning the flag. It's disgracing our country and everything we stand for. I'd just love to get my hands on these b@st@rds.

I can't believe that people would have such audacity to deface a memorial in recognision of our fallen veterans.

How sad. I agree with you John. I just don't understand the idiots who do this. If I saw them in the act, I would probably shoot them.
Just yesterday as I was leaving work, I look up at the Arlington Theatre which is across the street from my office and notice graffiti all over the tower. They are re-roofing and have scaffolding up and these gangsters climbed up and tagged the tower.
Just to give you an idea of how much balls these people have, here is some info on the local historical theatre. It's no small climb to tag this place.

I personally think that if the vandals are caught, we ought to buy them one way tickets to say, Iraq or Afghanistan.....or some such place.
It REALLY sets me off that these 'wastes of life' in my book could do such a thing to a memorial dedicated to those who gave their lives......

Remember, burning our flag is a right. While I would never burn the flag, I would gladly respect and defend the right of another person to burn the flag in protest.
