cut the tubes and get a (i do not know how to spell it) Vascetamie?. Close enough. Cut my balls in lamen turns [Razz] . My wife had experienced passing out when she was carrying LeAnn and after LeAnn (our only child) was born, started having mild sezars (don't know how to spell that one either). So we didn't want to take a chance there. And with LeAnn turning 8 next month, no baby insurance, and knowing they are not cheap, especially if you combine the SS mods and a baby. OUCH [Eek!] , the decision was made to be safe than sorry.

Had the no scalpal surgury at 1:00 today. Had quite a bit of pain after the medicine down there wore off, but the pain pills has seemed to help. As of know, Its not to bad.

So I guess this gives me a good excuse to be a post whore this weekend. Doctor said I should keep it quite this weekend. And let the wife wait on me hand and foot. [Big Grin] Just thought I would share.

Anyone else on here had it done?

Vasectomy, is the proper spelling. According to the dictionary, a vasectomy is a procedure by where a man surrenders all his manly authority, and lets his wife make all the decisions.

Just kidding! Congratulations for having the balls to go through with such a painful surgery (no pun intended there!). From what I understand, the recovery period is much less than what women have to go through for their surgical counterpart (which I am unable to spell correctly). So, a male vasectomy will reduce the amount of downtime that the couple has to endure before being able to resume their marital activities for the rest of time they are together. Or, as I like to put it....

You get more bang for your buck!

Bwahahahaha! Have fun!

Had it done about 20 years ago. No problems and I'm not sorry that I did it. We had 2 boys and the wife was having health problems, it was the right thing for me to do.

From what I've heard from others, just follow your Doctor's orders and take it easy for a few weeks. Don't go playing Superman, running, jumping, etc., even if you feel o.k. (the pain pills can make you think you're more healed than you are). Be patient with the time it takes for your body to recover.

As long as you don't have prolonged swelling or pain, everything should heal well. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call your Dr. if something doesn't seem right.

Use back up birth control until you've had confirmation of a ZERO sperm count. Follow up with "counts" at the interval your Dr. recommends. You want to make sure there isn't anything swimming around.

Good luck and have fun with the rehabilitation phase... [Big Grin]

Well, last year, after 6 years of marriage my wife finally changed her name. That was her xmas present to me. Mine to her was to get it done. I had it done in the office. No problems were encountered. My doctor said it would take about 20 shots to get a zero sperm count, so make sure you follow the doctors orders. And, yes I'm glad I got it done. Two kids are enough so there are no regrets.

I would recommend a bag of frozen peas for the swelling.

Yea, doc said 16 ejaculations and bring in the 17th to check. Man, thats alot of one or the other. My wife is either going the be worn out, or i'm gonna run out of lotion LOL [Razz] . Anyways, I do plan on following what doc said, and so far my swelling hasn't been bad at all.

Only problem I have right now is, with all this time to do nothing, all I think about is what mods do I wan't to do to the SS. And after reading Teri's article on there 3rd gen vert they have, now I want to buy my 82 back and drop in a Ls1. OOOhhhh, if only monet grew on trees.

Thanks again for the tips and encouragement. It sure helps.

Had mine done 37 years ago. Too long ago to remember. I do remember being enjected with novacane. I almost went through the roof with pain. I have never, ever had pain like that in my life. Had 2 kids and the wife had a heart condition,so I had to get it done for her sake.
