Morning all .............. humpday for this week .......... have a great one
The picture(s) of the day .............Vance Hunt from Dallas ............... one of the funniest individuals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting ................ and that brings on a couple of stories (you're in trouble now)
Vance was booked into Amarillo Dragway for a best 2 out of 3 match race against Art Arfons and the famed jet dragster "The Green Monster" ............ after staging for the first run Vance had a fuel delivery problem and the car sputtered badly upon his stab of the throttle at the green light ........... Arfons was off and running throwing massive flames out of the afterburner .......... the heat off the jet engine was intense .............. round 1 to Arfons .............. upon staging for round 2 it was very evident to all in the stands and on the starting line area that Vance was going to make the best of this situation ............. for he had hot dog weiners and buns taped to his roll cage ........ if nothing else, he was going to have a hot lunch ............ he won the next two rounds handily .......... Vance's car is pictured below
He is also famous for an incident at the AHRA Labor Day Nationals in 1962 ............. in '61 more than 32 single engined cars tried to qualify for the race and 3 dual engined cars qualified ........... the format was that the single winner would meet the dual winner for the overall championship ............ the dual car winner only had to make 2 runs to get to the final while the single winner had to make 5 ............... well Vance didn't think this was really fair, so in 1962 he showed up with a dual engined dragster ............ his normal 392 fuel burning Chrysler and a go cart engine ............ he was careful to make sure the setup was "legal" according to the AHRA rulebook .............. he kept the go cart engine under a towel until he went out to qualify .............. his run was very good and easily placed him into the field .......... after pulling back into the pits Jim Tice, the AHRA director of racing showed up madder than an old wet hen screaming for Vance to take the cart engine off ............ Vance told him that it met all the requirements and the tech people had approved it .......... Tice told him if he tried to run it that way again, his car would red light .................. Vance disconnected the second blower belt which ran the cart engine ............... won the event anyway ....... and was the direct cause of the following statement being added to every page of the next year's AHRA rule book ..... "If it does not say you can do it, you can't" ............... pic below

Howdy all. The arbitration went well yesterday...don't know how much yet, but Farmers is FINALLY going to have to cough up the diminished value for my '98.

Yep, getting downright nippy out there - it's supposed to plummet to 25 tonight - big change considering we were in the 60's yesterday.
Have a good one!

Tell me about it. How much justice remains to be seen. I'm hoping to get enough for the GC coil-overs with Bilstein shocks, extended warranty and some money toward a house (not necessarily in that order).
