Good afternoon, Firebird Friends and Camaro Comrades..............

In a week, most of us will be gathering with friends and family to give Thanks for all we enjoy in this life. The Thanksgiving Holiday is the heaviest travelled time of the year in terms of motor vehicle traffic.

Many have heard my plea before, but I believe it bears repeating:

On behalf of all of all the men and women at General Motors......please......I beg you:

>Buckle up when you get in your cars and trucks......and that goes for EVERY passenger as well. We put seatbelts in all of our vehicles for a good reason -- they can save your life and those who are riding with you.
>Don't drink and drive.....if you're going to be drinking, then please designate a driver before you leave for the party. If you'll be by yourself, please call a cab.
>If you're going to be driving any distance, please stop every once in a while to stretch and refresh yourself. Get a cup of coffee or a soda............The latest studies show that most accidents occur because the driver is fatigued and/or sleep deprived.
>Cell phones are great.....but pull off the road into a parking lot if you need to make a call. (I love those bumper stickers that say 'Hang up and Drive!')

While it may seem trite, I'm sincere when I say: ' we want you around for many more years..............'

Please enjoy your holiday!

In the last 2 weeks around my area of Michigan,I have seen many of the seat belt stings from local, county and state police. They will work a 1/4 mile stretch with 20 cop cars and make several tickets per hour.Their motto is "Click it or ticket".
