Finally getting the Green light from the wife for some new rims for the SS. I'm looking at the Cragar S/S forged alloys or the chrome TT2's. What i'd like to do is put an 18x10.5 in the rear and a 17x9 up front. A few questions tho....
The bolt circle is 5x4.75 and the back spacing is 6"??? can it be less?? And does anyone know if this set up will work with a 1" drop on a vert?

Thanks for any input or ideas

Didn't get the links to work either....??
What size rims is your buddy running???

I really wanted the TT2's in chrome but the 18x11's run around $400 apeice...WOW/OUCH!!!

So i'm leaning towards the Cragars but are only in 17's...The 17x9's have a 6" backspacing, which would be perfect, but i'd like a narrower rim in the front 17x7/17x8, but they only come with a 4.5" backspacing.....the question is..does anyone know if these will work with out any problems?
Thanks for any ideas.

You can copy/paste the links to see them.

Those wheels are sweet. I also like the ghost flames.

I am not sure about the backspacing question Marc. But some chromies will look awesome on your car. And I know of others who have put on larger wheels (18 and 19) without any problems on lowered cars.

Whoever said you couldn't run away from your problems obviously wasn't driving an SS.

Thanks Mark & Thanks edg35SSLE for the photos....
Those will look Very nice on my black SS. And i know they make them in an 17x11 for the rears just not sure on the back spacing is, with the 17x9's in the front should work out fine.....
Thanks guys.

I think the offset should be 50mm and the TT2s are 46. I have the 17x11 TT2s and a 1" drop and they work fine but the rim clearance with the 11s is a little too close on the rear bump stop, the 10.5s will probably be just right. If you look up the Z06 wheels - 18x10 - the specs on those are just right for our cars.
