I know you told me the info at BG, and maybe once again after that, but I lost it!! I am trying to locate the source for the C5 front brake upgrade caliper mounting brackets for a 98 Camaro, as I would like to get a pair.
Can you help, or anybody else know???? Thanks

The guy's name is Bob Bishop and he is now making them out of aluminum or stainless. There are 2 guys in our club who are doing the upgrade as we speak. I'm not at home right now, but when I get back later this afternoon, I'll forward you the contact information for him. I believe there's another guy who makes brackets as well - Dale Griffith and I'll try anfd get his info as well

Add me to the list of future upgrade. My father put Bear rotors on his c5 vette, so I am taking his stock ones . All I need is brakets, the minor parts and walla, done.

My brackets adapt the complete C5/ZO6 front braking system to any 1993-2002 F-body. They come as a kit which includes all of the necessary non-GM mounting hardware and complete step-by-step installation instructions. The bracket kit sells for $220.00 plus $10.00 shipping within the 48 contiguous states.
I have brokered a good deal on a C5 front brake parts package with Team Chevrolet. It has been about 10 months since I verified the package price, so prices could have gone up slightly.

$443.00 includes U.S. shipping (to the 48 contiguous states), but does not include brake pads.
$547.00 includes U.S. shipping and the ZO6 front brake pads. (This package, plus my bracket kit, supplies every part necessary for the conversion, except brake fluid).
These package prices DO NOT include my brackets.

Of course, you can get your GM parts wherever you want, but I don't recommend used calipers unless you know how they were used.

· If you have an LS1 car, you should be able to re-use your front banjo bolts in the C5 calipers, but everyone needs to use brand new copper washers.

GM brake pads list notes:
· Neither the regular Durastops nor the Hawk pads come with anti-rattle springs or pad abutment shims. The ZO6 and Durastop Ceramic pads come with the springs & shims.
· The Durastop Ceramic pads are not recommended for track use. The ceramic material acts as an insulator, reflecting heat back into the rotor. The result can be warped rotors if you don’t do a whole lot of cool down driving before parking. However, they are a good street pad because they have very low dusting, are quiet, and have a lifetime warranty from GM. For a mostly show car, these would be a good choice.
Many customers have reported 3.5 to 4 hours of work to complete the conversion (less on LS1 cars). An accurate torque wrench is absolutely necessary for a correct installation. Out of over 100 customers, I have not had an install question once they began the project.
I've attached a picture of a bracket. I have had 4 laboratory tests performed on my aluminum brackets to quantify deflection and ultimate strength. My current aluminum bracket withstood 22,900 lbs. of force and still did not fail. That is more than the weight of 6 F-bodies on one bracket. The brackets are machined from Kaiser 6061-T6511 aluminum billet. After machining, they are shot peened with stainless steel media. If you have other questions, feel free to contact me again.
