Thursday Sun-Sentinel, Crossword Puzzle, 9 Down

"Former GM Vehicle"

Starts with a C and ends with an R(Oops! second to last letter was an R)! Tada "Corvair" NOT The correct answer is CAMARO!! I am so depressed. Car is now right up there with the EDSEL

How does Camaro start with C and end with R. Am I missing something?

No it isn't. It may be like a T-rex, extinct, but the Camaro was beloved by many, even if they weren't true Camaro fans. The Edsel had maybe 4 people like it and many were GLAD to see it go (OK, I'm sure Ford was glad to see the Camaro go, too).
