... Lynn and I are out the door and headed to Witchita, Ks. Our son was involved in a single vehicle accident this past Friday nite. It happened at Hwy 254 and I-35 in a 'white-out' condition at the leading edge of the storm that dumped a foot of snow in that area. He's out of intensive care and all of his injuries were limited to his head and face. Everything has been sewn back on and reconstructed, he hasn't lost any sight or hearing, but he'll probably have to get a new DMV picture. (levity)
He was wearing his seat belt, but not the shoulder belt. He hit the windshield pretty hard when he struck the leading edge of a guard rail.
We're going down to take him home. Since his car is totaled and he lives in Kansas City, we figured he didn't need to take the bus back home.
We hope that everyone has a safe and happy holiday season with family and friends and that time is spent at home.

... THANK YOU to all of you for your prayers, concerns and comments.
He was discharged to go home yesterday. We drove him to see his kids (our grandkids), who he was on his way to pickup (for visitation) when his accident happened. They're better after seeing for themselves that he'll be OK.
Today we drive him back to Kansas City, to his home and get him settled in. We'll return home this week-end.
Please remember - if ever there comes a time when your instincts tell you something different, follow them. Whether it's driving, in business or life itself.
