All over the news right now...Hopefully no one got hurt. And also hopefully no one's SS got damaged. More important is the people, though. Stay safe out in LA area! Epicenter said to be 200 miles north of LA.

Was living there during the Northridge and several others.

The epicenter was located about 7 miles from San Simeon, 240 miles north of Los Angeles....There was no immediate report of damage from the quake, but park rangers in San Simeon have ordered evacuation of the Hearst Castle, the palatial home built by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, a worker at the attraction's gift shop told CNN.

Yep...I was posting a reply when it hit. Network, telephones, everything went down. Cell phone service became immediately overloaded. Don't know the extent of the damage up near the epicenter but we were swaying here for quite a while. Longest one I can remember feeling in a looong time.

Gotta love Cali... Shaking, rockin and rollin.
Sad to hear there was loss of life though.
I remember the Northridge quake of 94 too. I was about 10 miles from it. Nothing like getting thrown out of bed at 4'ish in the morning and flipping on the light just in time to see everything in your room come crashing down.
Wicked....

How about being in a building with 25ft high racks filled with sheet metal....and they start swinging back and forth.... it was a long roller of a quake, thought the room was spinning...
Looks like alot of damage up in the Paso Robles area, it was a pretty good shaker.
Wickman43....Welcome to Cali...you were real close to it in Vandanberg...
