Did full brake job, washed and clay barred and zainoed my wheels, replaced my serpentine belt, and both the low and high beams on the drivers side, and put on my centercaps!!! WOOHOO!!!!

I need someone to host pictures of my finished product on the car, please respond or email.

Tomorrow Im going to change my oil, thinking strongly about changing my fuel filter, and when I get back to school I have to clean my K&N.

Anyone else taking this holiday opportunity to work outside? BTW: it was 75 degrees outside today, with a slight breeze, partly cloudy. I was out in shorts and a t-shirt, and its the weekend after new years! Bwahahahahahaha to all you northerners!!!

EDIT: Im also having a bit of a problem too, this is posted in the tech section, but i figured it wouldnt hurt to repeat it here. I got new brake pads on all 4 wheels, and also 4 brand spankin new tires. Now, Im having a bit of a problem, when I do a hard stop from about 35-40 mph, I get a low trac light, and feel a slight rumble from the rear. I am assuming that the tires have stopped rotating, and are just sliding in friction against the road, but at the same time my brake pedal feels like its going in pretty far.

BTW: the brake job was done without removing the calipers from the brake lines, so the entire brake fluid system was kept closed the entire time, and thus no need to bleed the brakes.

Questions, suggestions?

Haha yourself! [Big Grin] Today was 53 F (12 C) and I took the SS out for a spin with the T's off!! Unheard of in Jan! A couple of golf courses actually were open as well! This is working out to be a great "winter"! The forecast says snow and colder, but I'm gonna be heading down to Palm Beach on Tuesday for 10 days! [Big Grin] Maybe all the snow will be gone by the time we get back! [Wink]

Best regardSS,

Elie

What pads did you install?

from

whenever you change the pads and/or rotors, you need to 'bed' the pads, and/or 'season' the rotors to get the most out of them.

'Seasoning' the rotors is when you heat cycle them completely several times before getting on them hard.

'Bedding' the pads is done after the rotors are 'seasoned'. You'd get your speed up to ~60 mph, brake hard down to about 5 mph, repeat twice more then get on the freeway for 10 - 15 min of cooling.

These procedures will help to insure a long life to the brake components.

when you install new rotors, you want to drive them for 10 - 15 minutes, without hard or heavy braking, then park the car and let them cool completely. Do this several times (3 or 4) over the course of a day or two.

Here's a Baer link to some more info.
