The holidays are over ............ get to work Morning all ............. hope you have a good day
The picture of the day ............... brings up a story ............. US 30 Dragway ...... 1964 ............. the owner booked a best two out of three match race between the Logghe-Marsh-Steffey Jr. Fuel dragster and "Big Daddy" Don Garlits ............... the draw was "The faster unblown fueler versus the fastest blown fueler" .............. Jim Marsh in the little injected small block Chevrolet versus the country's "claimed" fastest blown Chrysler (but then again Garlits claimed the be the first, the quickest, the fastest on everything) .................... one of the sponsors bet the track owner $1,000 that Marsh could take Garlits ............. believing this was a sucker bet, the track owner gave him 2 to 1 odds on the bet .................. well, Marsh quickly proceeded to blow Garlits away in two straight .............. the track owner was so mad that he made Garlits make another run .............. and Marsh blew him away again ............. "Big Dodo" strikes again

Good Morning!!!!
Boy that brings back memories, I was there for that match.
By any chance do you have any pictures of the Double Trouble dragster out of Detroit. Ran in the early 60s. Don Westerdale (name probably spelled wrong) drove it for a while. I owned the car for a while after Don moved on to bigger and better things, but don't have any pictures of it. Back then it seems like I took very few pictures of my toys.

Back to Winter. We only got about 2 inches of snow, but just enough to slow down the drive into work.

Good morning. Looks like frigid weather coming for mid week. It was fun while it lasted. Let's hope the moisture doesn't join it. Have a great one!

BBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! PoSSum, close the door!
We're in the middle of an arctic blast from the north with precipitation moving in off the coast. The news stations are going to 24 hour coverage as soon as the first flakes start to fall. They're calling it a "Blizzard", but only a few inches are expected. I don't expect it to be much different than the few inches we had on New Year's Day (already melted). The messy part will be the freezing rain as the temperature fluctuates over the next couple of days, which sets us up for flooding.
I got to drive the '98 to work for the first time today. Steve's marathon Thanksgiving Holiday strip, swap, and build was amazing. He and a friend (MM stopped by, too) completely stripped both cars and re-built them into one car in 3.5 days. It's a whole new car (basically it's the '98 body, engine, seats, door panels, exhaust & wheels with everything else (transmission, carpet, axle, suspension, dash, computer, console, misc. other parts, etc., salvaged from RHT's '00 SS). Whatever I've missed, Steve can add. One of these days I'll post pics. During the middle of it all, it looked like two Camaros exploded in the shop!
Have a good day everyone, we'll see ya on the other side of the storm after we dig out. Posts: 7198 | From: Near Portland, Oregon, USA | Registered: Feb 2000

Howdy all. Back to the grind here as well. Luckily the trip to San Fran this week will help it go by faster. Then my coworker and I are flying our wives down and staying through the weekend.
