Not a good experience. I don't think those guys knew what they were doing or their machine was really off. Don't get me wrong I would love to believe my car has 900 FTLB of torq at the rear wheels but I find that hard to believe. Also my engine HP was rated at, brace yourselves now, a wooping 135. I asked how many cylinders was that firing in order to achieve such a "high" rating. I know the air is thin, but that's bad. Guess I'll call GMMG tomorrow and compare notes.

Something sounds a little off for sure! I hope they recognized that and gave you your $$ back (or at least let you come back for a freebee once the dyno is fixed).

First off I would not have paid them for the dyno as anyone would know it was way out of sink. I saw the first Berger 75th anniversary car from GMMG dynoed at a show and it did 344 rwhp but remember also the first ones were 375 horse rated instead of 380

Is your car auto or stick?

You dyno a stick car in 4th gear and an auto car in 3rd gear...

Wow! The dyno or the operator must have done something wrong. I saw many 2000 Berger SS' that were rated at 375 hp make 310-315 RWHP at Camaro Superfest in 2000. That was on a dyno from Werks Motorsports. I would imagine your numbers should be a little bit higher stock VS stock from GMMG. [Smile]

Greg do you remember the red 2000 375 HP anniversary Berger Pat lewis had at alot of the shows that year it was the first one and I saw it dyno 344 rwhp at Columbus for the International show that year. Pat let Cindy and I take it around town for awhile when he and Fbodfather was fueling the other cars.

Definitely something wrong there. get your money back. you should be putting down some where in the low to mid 300 range on both HP and TQ.

135!?!?!? Camaros did not have that kind of HP since the early 80's i believe.

I remember that car it was PR1. Maybe it was well broken in when it was dynoed, especially after Dennis Barker drove it! [Smile]

Thanks for the info. I really hope Mike from GMMG calls me today. I really need some ammo, to combat these (less than desirable) Dyno Operators. They really think their stuff is good to go. I said to them that 900LBS of TQ is not right. They stood by their Dyno numbers. I'll be asking for my money back today. If I have to drive to Denver to get a good dyno I will.

A couple of times ours had a glitch with the program, or the rpm pickup and did something strange like that. So we fixed the problem, did a couple more runs, and even give the guy extra ones to make up for it. THey just need to look into figuring out whats up with their dyno. Obviously its got a problem.
Typically I will see LS1 cars do between 285 (AT cars) to the 315hp (6spd) range totally stock, depending on year, miles, and each car is slightly different. With and airbox and exhaust I would expect about 315-320/325 hp. Look at obSSd numbers and NateSS numbers. They are right in there. I wish you the best of luck.
