I just saw the new, Ford commercial where two guys in a red, Ford pickup, pulling a vintage Mustang on a trailer pull up next to what looks like the Dodge guy in a black Dodge pickup, pulling the vintage Dodge Charger.
The guys in the Ford truck holler out, "Hey, that thing got a Hemi?"
The Dodge guy hollers back, "Yeh!".
The light changes and the Ford rig out accelerates the Dodge.
I can't believe they did that.
Bwahaha!....
Too bad it wasn't a Chevy commercial.

There's a lot of truth to the commercial. When I had my rotors replaced on my Z28 the Chevy dealer was out of loaner cars. They rented a vehicle from the local car rental agency. I had my choice of 4 vehicles and chose the Hemi equiped PU truck. The interior was comfortable and the handling was OK but there was only power if it was put in 1st gear. In Drive it is very slow, so much so that I had to keep it floored from 50MPH up because it goes into over drive very similar to being in 6th gear in the SS. Stomping down on the excelerator does nothing, no gear change. I was very disappointed. I felt like 0-60 was in the 19-20 second range. I'm sure the Hemi is capable of doing a much better job but not with the gearing in the tranny.

If you watch the Dodge commercial, listen closely...in the start I heard tires squealing. No truck like that with a loaded car trailer on the back will burn the tires from a dead stop. I Ford commercial even tried to get a sort of look alike Dodge driver. Posts: 5682 | From: Dearborn,Mi. | Registered: Feb 2002
